Announcing Enterprise Engineer 3.5
On January 23, 2006, we announced Enterprise Engineer 3.5! This significant release represents a major step forward in the evolution of Enterprise Engineer, giving you the ability to improve how you manage the creation and use of business critical documents. Enterprise Engineer 3.5 boasts several new features that make it highly intuitive and powerful, including:
- A work-manager and audit trail capability that enables companies to oversee and manage engineering tasks
- A formal review process that provides comment and redline capabilities that allow engineers to mark-up individual sections of large-scale drawings with interactive comments and quickly navigate to view and edit existing revisions
- Integration with Microsoft Office that allows users to utilize all Microsoft applications as part of their engineering process – including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook files
- The ability to manage content
on both the EMC Documentum and FileNet P8 platforms,
improving Enterprise Engineer’s flexibility and
enterprise acceptance
These new features open the door to what we refer to as "Intellectual Work Management."

McLaren Software Customer Advisory Board Forming
Have you ever thought, "If this product could just do X then I could solve Y" or wanted to talk directly
to the product manager(s) responsible for your product? Wouldn’t it also be nice to talk to other customers
about how they implemented and use the same product you use? If so, then you may be interested in the
McLaren Software Customer Advisory Board (CAB).
The first Enterprise Engineer CAB is scheduled for early April 2006. We have been selecting key
representatives from our Enterprise Engineer customer base as candidates to participate in this first
meeting. If you are an Enterprise Engineer customer and are interested in participating, follow the
link below to answer our CAB Participation Questionnaire and we will contact you shortly.

Kicking Off 2006 at Daratech PLANT!
We kicked off 2006 at Daratech PLANT in Houston, Texas, on January 23rd.
At this year’s conference, we announced Enterprise Engineer 3.5 and introduced
our vision for Intellectual Work Management. McLaren’s CTO, David Parry,
participated in the CTO panel where he provided some straight forward, practical
advice on integration strategies.
In addition, we celebrated our ten year anniversary in grand style with the first
McLaren Software "Texas Meets Scotland" bash. We had gaming tables, of course with
Texas Hold’em, an educational Scotch tasting, and Callaway™ White Hot putter prize
packs- along with plenty of food and drink! A big "thank you" goes to our longtime
partner EMC Documentum for helping with the event. If you were not able to attend,
we missed your company! Click below to see photos from the event
and anniversary party!
