Enterprise Engineer passes 100th customer milestone!
McLaren Software is proud to announce that Enterprise Engineer has just passed the 100th customer milestone supporting over 75,000 users. Now in its third major release Enterprise Engineer represents what McLaren believes to be the most mature line of business content application in this emerging segment of the Enterprise Content Management market.
Enterprise Engineer has evolved from its initial release in 2004 to a multi-platform engineering documentation and business process management suite. Comprising of four applications designed to manage engineering (CAD) drawings, engineering project and asset documentation plus transmittal management. Complimenting the McLaren CAB is a newly formed independent IBM / McLaren Customer Working Group, the goal of which is to maximise the IBM / McLaren relationship.
McLaren recently announced Enterprise Engineer Web Services enabling integration with other enterprise applications including SAP and Maximo. Also in this issue we are previewing McLaren Services for Exchange allowing Work Pack approval and review from within Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007. Completing the product announcements is a new version of McLaren Studio providing a more intuitive tool for configuring Enterprise Engineer applications and an update on DocLoader Personal.
As the focus for ECM purchases swings towards line of business applications and many research companies predicting the emergence of CEVAs (Content Enabled Vertical Applications), McLaren continues to build its management expertise with the appointment of the CEO of Sigma Capital (a leading McLaren investor), a former Senior VP of OpenText and Hummingbird and a new CFO to the Board of Directors.

McLaren has strengthened the Board of Directors with the appointments of Graham Barnet (CEO of Sigma Capital), Jim Fish as CFO and Tony Heywood as a non executive director.

Release of Enterprise Engineer Web Services -
Providing Integration with Maximo and SAP
The availability of Enterprise Engineer Web Services enables the integration of Enterprise Engineer with enterprise applications to satisfy the growing demand to integrate content and data management applications to provide richer customer solutions.
Enterprise Engineer Web Services include;
- McLaren Search Service to provide the ability for SAPTM and MaximoTM users to search for specific documentation managed by Enterprise Engineer
- McLaren Simple Object Service allows an external application to automatically create objects (i.e. documents) managed by Enterprise Engineer within either an EMC - DocumentumTM or IBM - FileNet P8TM repository.
- The McLaren Java Class Data Provider allows the creation of a custom Java class to populate Enterprise Engineer dynamic dialogs with data from an external source, such as a file, database or web service.

DocLoader is back, and this time it's personal!
DocLoader has been one of McLaren’s signature products since its initial release in 1997, and has become one of the most popular bulk and batch loading applications for the EMC Documentum platform. The latest release supports EMC Documentum 6.5 SP1, and is available in two editions.
- DocLoader Project – for bulk loading documents and metadata, with a maximum capacity of 65,000 per run.
- DocLoader Personal –allows individual users to share the same configuration sheets as DocLoader Project to ensure consistent loading and classification.
