Engineering Work Pack Management from Microsoft Outlook

Completing Engineering workflow tasks directly from Microsoft Outlook

EMC World Orlando Florida 18th May 2009

McLaren Software announces "McLaren Services for Microsoft Exchange" designed to widen the range of users able to participate in engineering document management
processes and Work Pack approval.

Enterprise Engineer Work Packages manage the relationship between all forms of engineering documentation and their associated tasks governed by best practice
industry processes. McLaren Services for Microsoft Exchange enables users to complete their work tasks directly from their Microsoft Outlook client. As all
documents including engineering (CAD) drawings managed by Enterprise Engineer are held in the supporting ECM repository, the security and integrity of both the
documentation and process are preserved.

CAD packages are often regarded as the most widely used engineering software applications, the reality is that Microsoft Outlook is more commonly used by
engineers and other roles involved in the engineering process. By enabling both Microsoft Outlook 2003 and 2007 users to view, approve or delegate the approval of
Engineering Work Packs the value and integrity of the entire engineering documentation process is increased, audit trails are more comprehensive and user
adoption is accelerated without the need to learn new applications or interfaces.

"McLaren Services for Exchange is a major step forward in encompassing a wider range of users within the engineering process. This is only made possible by the
proven comprehensive business rules and functionality of Enterprise Engineer" Commented Paul Muir CEO of McLaren Software.

McLaren Services for Microsoft Exchange is due for first customer shipment in Q3 2009 with Enterprise Engineer 3.6.2 SP3.
